Holywell Road, Ewloe, Deeside

The proposed development site is located to the south of the B5125 Holywell Road, north of Green Lane and to the west of existing residential properties on the western boundary of the existing settlement of Ewloe Green.

Castle Green Homes are undertaking pre-application consultation in advance of submitting a full planning application to Flintshire County Council for around 315 homes (including 126 affordable homes), new vehicular access off Holywell Road and Green Lane, public open space and equipped play.

The Site is approximately 24.7 acres (10.00 hectares) and comprises a series of agricultural fields subdivided by existing trees and hedgerows. The Site is currently utilised for agricultural purposes and bound by existing residential properties on its eastern and southern boundary. Land beyond the site’s northern and western boundary is currently open countryside in use for agricultural purposes.

The proposed 128 homes will comprise a range of 2-storey one-to-four-bedroom properties and includes a variety of flats, terraced, semi-detached and detached properties, incorporating a range of measures including double glazing, energy efficient heating systems, insulated flooring and a high standard of roof and wall insulation which will be delivered alongside our Registered Provider partner. The scheme will include large areas of publicly open space including equipped play, informal play areas, SUDs features and new areas of tree planting. Castle Green Homes will agree on a range of financial contributions with the local planning authority as part of the planning application to support improvement to local facilities and infrastructure to mitigate the impact of the development.

The dwellings, roads and associated landscaping proposed will be designed and constructed to a high standard and will be entirely in keeping with the character of the surrounding area and in accordance with relevant policies within the Flintshire Local Development Plan, offering a well-considered and attractive place to live for future residents and make a significant contribution to meeting the identified housing needs of Flintshire.
